Environmental - Site Remediation and Brownfields
Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla counsels clients on the vast array of issues that arise when their property or facility requires environmental investigation or remediation. Our attorneys have represented numerous national developers, manufacturers, cogeneration facilities, utilities, automobile dealerships, lenders, borrowers and municipal boards. We regularly handle matters involving government enforcement actions, Brownfields, Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) applicability and compliance, underground storage tanks and other site remediation matters. Our attorneys also advise on potential state and federal liability for the costs of remediating hazardous substances, and we work with clients and technical professionals in navigating the remediation process.
We assist clients in obtaining development approvals from state and federal agencies and in defending against enforcement actions in the following areas:
Redevelopment/Brownfields
- Liability protections in purchase and sale of Brownfields sites
- Solid waste management
- Hazardous waste management
We also counsel clients in the following areas:
- Management of hazardous site cleanups for manufacturers and developers
- Environmental site conditions in transactional matters, including ISRA counseling
- Environmental due diligence in connection with site acquisition
- Funding opportunities for resolving environmental issues in connection with redevelopment and other projects
