Law Explorers Post 529: GH&C sponsors Law Explorers Post 529 which invites interested high school students from various towns throughout Monmouth county to learn about the legal profession and gain the first hand experience through a program comprised of various discussions and exercises involving the practice of law, including client counseling, mediation, negotiation and a mock trial competition. GH&C provides attorney and administrative advisors. However, student officers, who are elected by the general membership of the Post, make all major decisions and are consulted when determining trip locations and guest speakers.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer: In October of every year GH&C employees, their family members and friends participate in the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk in Point Pleasant, NJ. The team raises money to strengthen the ACS’ research, education, advocacy and patient service programs for breast cancer. The firm has been active in the event for a number of years.
Dress For Success: The attorneys and staff of GH&C participates in a clothing drive sponsored by the Monmouth-Ocean chapter of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) to assist Dress for Success of Morris County. Beth Christian, Esq., a shareholder at Giordano Halleran & Ciesla, and Judy DeFeo of Jadde Financial Solutions, LLC, both members of NJAWBO's Monmouth-Ocean chapter, coordinate the clothing drive. Garments that were collected included suits and accessories in new condition, which will be delivered to Dress for Success of Morris County. Dress for Success of Morris County collects professional clothing for women who do not have the financial means to purchase appropriate business attire. The organization has been assisting women since 1998 and provides a great opportunity for the firm to take an active role in assisting the women of our community.
American Cancer Society’s “Cancer Ball” – and a 2009 Honoree: The firm on a yearly basis contributes to the American Cancer Society’s “Cancer Ball.” On June 20, 2009 the American Cancer Society of the Jersey Shore selected Giordano Halleran & Ciesla as its co-honoree for the event. The Cancer Ball assists the American Cancer Society in raising funds to reach its 2015 goal of saving 5 million lives by reducing cancer mortality by 50% and cancer incidence by 25%.
Monmouth University Leon Hess Business School Business Council: The Business Council is a source of strong support for the Leon Hess Business School; and representatives of the school faculty. The council is intended to a constructive vehicle for identifying and discussing issues of common concern. They provide expertise and advise to the Dean, staff, and faculty on matters of programs, development and strategic planning.
