Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla Tops U.S. List of 4thQ M&A Advisers to Insurance Brokers

    February 16, 2021

Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla was the nation’s No. 1 legal adviser for insurance broker M&As during the fourth quarter of 2020, based on number of transactions, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence.

GH&C handled 25 deals during that period. The No. 2 and No. 3 law firms on the list handled 11 and 6 deals, respectively.

In the fourth quarter of 2019, GH&C was ranked No. 3 on the list.

Paul T. Colella, the firm’s co-managing shareholder, CFO and member of the firm’s Corporate and Business Practice Area, leads a team of attorneys in the representation of one of the fastest-growing insurance brokers in the country. This representation has resulted in significant M&A activity during the past year, especially in the fourth quarter.

Mergers and acquisitions, in general, represent a core part of the firm’s transactional matters in the Corporate and Business Practice Area, chaired by shareholder John A. Aiello. The M&A team represents sellers, purchasers, investors, shareholder groups, boards of directors, special committees of boards and financial advisers.

The attorneys structure, negotiate and finalize a wide range of business and other commercial transactions. The team collaborates with other attorneys at the firm in such areas as intellectual property, banking, real estate, environmental, securities, and labor and employment law. It also works with accountants, financial institutions, investment bankers and others.
