Steven M. Dalton
Steve's primary practice is in Environmental Law. He is able to utilize his background in environmental sciences to anticipate, understand and address the issues that his clients confront. Steve assists business and individual clients in state and federal environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, solid and hazardous waste remediation and redevelopment of contaminated sites, underground storage tank compliance, water and sewer rights and approvals, Tideland rights and approvals, and municipal land use matters. Steve also assists clients with environmental aspects of real estate transactional work including drafting contractual provisions, leasing, due diligence review and Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) review. He has experience in actions to preserve water and sewer for affordable housing developments and in administrative law matters defending DEP enforcement actions and challenging permit denials, and is active in efforts to shape environmental regulatory policy on behalf of builder groups and individual clients. Steve handles projects that range from single lot residential developments to large-scale mixed-use brownfield redevelopment projects.

Prior to joining the firm, Steve practiced in New York and dealt primarily with environmental issues involving New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania law, with a focus on representation of the interests of various mining facilities and related industrial companies in connection with environmental and land use related issues, including environmental quality review under New York's State Environmental Quality Review Act. In this capacity, he also gained experience in the areas of estate law, real estate, landlord/tenant proceedings, matrimonial law, and general litigation.Admissions
